I camped here frequently 35 years ago. Now I returned with my family and it has become one of my family's favorite state parks. The river is awesome. Cool, clear, full of fish. The tracks are throughout the river. We like to follow the trails alongside and find the tracks not always seen. Bathrooms have been renovated recently. Very good condition. Squirrels will come up to you to beg. Terrific night sky in the open prairie.

Dinosaur Valley State Park drew us in with the allure of fossils and tracks, but kept us because of it's beauty. Every step on every trail, every sight around every bend was amazing. Absolutely worth checking out!

Lots of trails, with scenic views. Most trails are relatively easy to navigate. Everything is well maintained. You can experience the river, plains/prairie, and forested areas on the same group of trails. Would definitely recommend reservations in advance, though, to guarantee you can actually get in when you go.

I had so much fun, first time there! I didn't get a chance to go hiking but i did walk and it was so calming and it's definitely somewhere anyone should go! Plus the gift store has a great variety of souvenirs and collectibles.

Yes. Compared to other RV parks in Glen Rose they are a lot more spacious.
Yes. Park's words: "Pets must be attended and on a six-foot leash at all times. Pets are not allowed in any park buildings, cabins, or shelters. Pet waste is to be properly disposed of in a solid waste container."
