I was there earlier today (from 10 to 11) and it was definitely not crowded, despite perfect beach weather. However, the beach is closed today 7/13 due to runoff nearby. You can still sunbathe on the pier though.
Usually in the afternoon till about 6 it's crowded on weekends.. especially because it's summer
