My recycling hasn’t been picked up the last two weeks gave up sitting on hold hearing repeated message about excellent service.
Guess what I was just told by a VERY reliable source. . . Call and complain to THE CITY. They're under contract with the city you live in. Complain to them. GFL has already been paid so they don't give 2 $hits about our problems!!! Good luck!!
I have spent several commutes from Northville to downtown Detroit on hold and never speak with someone. They never respond to emails either. On top of all that, their automated phone system claims you can leave a voice message if you call after business hours or on the weekend. Even this "voice message" system just puts you on hold infinitely.
I can only get an answer once in a while. But it never does any good to call them. I think they say what you want to hear and then hang up the phone and laugh about how stupid we are to believe them.
I'm not I'm not sure why they're not answering maybe go on their website sorry I couldn't help anymore
The phone 'menu' is a circle of Hades that Dante would have recognized. There appears to be no way to speak to a human.
Worst customer service! Customer service decides if they will send a truck to get the recyclables that they never picked up. Missed the whole court. Spent hours waiting to talked to someone for two days only to get no results. Next time up for the contract let’s go with someone else. Terrible service!
When calling the toll free number, press 1 for a roll off dumpster/trailer, and then follow the prompt for new service.
No they don't , they do not care
No customer service. They NEVER pickup my trash without multiple calls and emails. I have the direct line to two supervisors and they still do nothing. I had to pay in advance, so I can't cancel. GFL is the worst. Pickup trash is all they do and they can't seem to figure that out.
I've NEVER had a problem with them answering the phone, although I know I must be patient. They"ve answered between 20-45 minutes. I've had to call three times, during three years about missed bulk pick up and EACH time, it was gone the next day. On 5/31/2019 I called at 5:01, was on hold til 5:32, they answered, asked how they could help, when I got through telling them my concern, the phone hung up, I called right back and got the message that the office was closed. I was a little p.o.'d, but I will call first thing Monday. I saw on TV that they just signed a new contract and starting tomoro, June 3, everything (bulk, trash, recycling) will be picked up every other week. That won't do for Detroit in the sprong, summer, fall or winter. Our garbage needs to be picked up every week. Might have to complain with our city officials. UNACCEPTABLE!!
You can contact them with an online message with concerns for things like a missed pickup. They have always taken care of my issues, but you have to be patient. It's unfortunate they don't always respond to my message, but they do get it and take care of the issue. For that I'm grateful.
They're model must be not to answer calls. They never answer. They direct you to the website and there is no cobtact form on it either.
Look. Each neighborhood has ONE truck doing recycling for nearly 6 square (And heavily populated) miles. It's a huge area, and running our trucks that hard every day causes them to break down. Things do get missed, we are expanding soon, and hopefully you'll have better service in the future.
