Do you typically have sufficient parking during events or should a person buy a ticket for parking elsewhere beforehand?

I've never in 20+ years of being an adult and going downtown for events once a month on average had to purchase advance tickets for parking. Literally never. Behind Fox, there's plenty of parking. You may have to walk a few blocks, but you'll be fine. Honestly, it's a bit astounding that someone would say that "You're gonna want to buy one elsewhere for sure". Even if one has zero experience going downtown Detroit, one can find ample parking.

Kimberly Crawford-Clifton had a great answer. It's true that you may have to walk a few blocks if you don't find one close to the Fox using an app, but you'll still be able to find parking, no problem.

I'd buy tickets ahead of time for the convenience.

You can get cheaper parking ahead of time using park whiz app. But if you don't want to get it ahead, you can still find parking.

Wife and I always buy tics in advance. Same price and convenient especially if more than one event going on downtown.
