What does a single membership cost and can you use it to get on to other museums. Which ones do you partner with outside of Michigan?
Peggy Abel-Quintero | Nov 3, 2018

A single membership is $65 and there is a list of partner museums throughout North America listed on the DIA website. You can find it easily by googling, DIA membership
"Northern Lights '66" is a theatrical performance by the Mosaic Youth Theater. They are a nationally-recognized group of actors, dancers and singers, generally under age 21. They will perform 5/19 at 7PM and 5/20 at 4, in the Detroit Film Theater auditorium.
There is something for everyone. Don't miss the holograms in the Modern/Contemporary exhibits . . . There are in a totally dark room and you don't notice them until you are right in front :-)
There is a drawing in the galleries where you can make a drawing of one of the works of art. Materials provided. There are also concerts mostly free, lectures, tours, and make it take it crafts
Oddly, the DIA website doesn’t seem to say. I have a senior membership, but I’m 68 so for me the question is moot. There are special programs at the DIA that have “senior” rates for 55 and older. I would guess that that also applies for membership but I wouldn’t swear to it.
If I recently posted a question to DIA. Where can I expect a response? Would you want my email?

Donald, you are not directly contacting the DIA with your queries, but rather asking the general public on an open platform (Google Maps) for input.
Typically, questions here are of the more practical variety, such as:
Does this place accept credit cards?
Is there a vending machine?
Are all entrances wheelchair accessible?
Definitely do not post your email address. Follow the link provided to the DIA's actual website, or call them during business hours.
What hours and days is the DIA open?

Like 10-5 free tickets online for metro Detroit. They are time slot reserved
Not that I'm aware of... there is meter parking around the area for like $2 every 3 hours. The parking lot for the DIA was above $7 when we went in January
Corner of building you'll see a blue entrance flag. So if you're looking at the building from the parking lot, it's on your left.
I ordered (and paid for) several masks from the DIA a few weeks ago, about 5 weeks ago, and I have no knowledge when they will arrive if ever...can you help me with this?

The museum is shut down until the lift the ban on quarantines. You can check with their gift shop or security information during business
What hours is the DIA open Monday through Sunday?
Paul Veselenak | Nov 2, 2020
Santosh Varma | Nov 2, 2020
Monday is closed... Tuesday to Thursday 9 am to 4 pm ... Friday 9 am to 10 pm sat and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm.
Rumor has it, Gene Gargaro has received pay raises in the past couple of years is this correct?
What are some of the representative works of art in the Museum of Detroit?
김경란 | Nov 3, 2019
Sandeep Kumar | Nov 3, 2019
There are displays of Modern art, African, Roman, Egyptian and many more.. seriously one day isn't enough to check them all out. Do try to get there early and cover as much as possible.
Is it safe for kids or family? Any nude, naked, or photos with lots of exposure?
Nidhin Dhanraj | Nov 3, 2019
David Loewi | Nov 3, 2019
Is nudity unsafe? Great art had always depicted the human body, and the DIA is full of great art. It's as safe or unsafe as any great museum.
I am sorry i did not recall seeing any paintings by kahlos...names off the top of my head that really stood out were rembrandt..picaso..dutch ..sorry i couldnt help more
If you are a resident of macomb oakland or Wayne counties its free (as we support it woth our property taxes) of you are from outside the tri-county area it is $14
If you are a resident of Wayne, Oakland or Macomb counties, then admission to the DIA is free. You do have to pay for entrance to special exhibits (eg Star Wars), but I am not sure what the available discounts are.
Where is the easiest place to park by the dia??
Sarah Martina | Nov 3, 2018
Richard Brown | Nov 3, 2018
We have parked on the side streets (metered) or at the parking lot of the Science Center
Yes, I'm sure you could get away with bringing a bottle of pop and some chips because they sell those there. There isnt anything to special with there drinks and such, just that they give you a tray.
Standard general admission prices are:
Adult- $14
Senior- $9
College- $8
Child- $6
If you live in Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb, General Admission is free!
