Went there for the first time to see Halloween. It’s a very welcoming atmosphere with drinks and snacks too! Can’t forget the beautiful and powerful Wurlitzer organ! A one of a kind experience! If you’re looking for a nice date night this is a place to add to your list. We can’t wait to go back!

Such a unique experience! We had a blast at the "Halloween" movie showing! Will definitely return.

The Wurlitzer Pipe Organ originally was installed in the Fisher Theater in the Fisher Building in the New Center area. It was removed from there, and installed in the Iris Theater, and later moved to the Senate Theater. The organ has four keyboards and 34 ranks of pipes, numbering around 2,000. The Detroit Theater Organ Society keeps this vintage instrument very well maintained !

Parking is free and easy to find! There is a gated lot behind the theater and street parking is also available on Michigan ave and Gilbert. Just be sure to enter through the front of the theater if you park in the rear gated lot.
No, we play old films from the 20s-90s. Check out our movie listing at our Facebook page The Senate Theater
