I don't know where you read that... St George is one of the safest places ever!! It's 60% LDS and the majority of people who visit (tourism is huge here) are either families from up North (where it's 95% LDS in many areas) or health nuts here to bike the red Rock or run marathons. I'm not LDS myself, but when it comes to being very superficially kind and helpful to strangers and not stealing or hurting other people, they're pretty dang solid. I've lived in Utah for 26 years, St George for 3 and it's seriously one of the safest places ever. Maybe the crime rate was speaking to opioid abuse? We rank top in the nation in that, sadly.
I dont know about that, but I have been there for 24 days so far this summer and not a problem.
I just drove threw but it didn't seem like a bad area
I would not know but normally the smaller the town the lower the crime rate I think.
