There is no camping on the beach only in the designated campgrounds. There's one just north of Oregon Inlet which is very close to the beach. There's also one at the Point near the lighthouse. There is also one on Ocracoke Island.

Only where it says, "camping permitted," which is not on the beach itself, but there is a campsite literally right beside it.
