A much bigger park than I thought with multiple parking lots for multiple beaches. It's alot like going to the ocean, but the water is fresh, not salty. There are also several biodiverse areas and the Tom Ridge Environmental Center to explore. The park also features two lighthouses. For events at this park visit: events dcnr pa For more information: pa parks and forests (diamond)

Absolutely beautiful. Take your time and look for sea glass! It feels like you're at the ocean!
Alex Durette
Great beach !!
Angela Mayer
Great bow trails, beautiful beach, a little pollution, but nothing to worry about.

Well Melissa, As long as You DON'T interfere w/ other Sunbathers & Swimmers at PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK, You SHOULDN'T have any trouble. A 10 x 10 Canopy ISN'T a bad idea either bc of the way the sun beats down on You on HOT & HUMID Days. Just be CAREFUL & HAVE FUN.
No Rangers patrolled heavily by Rangers
Matt, There's ONLY 1 Motel that I would recommend near "PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK" & that's the CLARION MOTEL LAKE ERIE near Peninsula Drive. The Rooms are really comfortable & there's an indoor pool too. You're within a 5 min drive from the PARK. There are other SMALLER & CHEAPER Places, but they ALL look it.
Yes.
Well Kevin, There is NO such existing Restaurant/Bar on any kind of Mooring Dock on OR near LAKE ERIE OR PRESQUE ISLE STATE Park. There is a GREAT Restaurant called SARA'S Restaurant at the Entrance to PRESQUE ISLE. It's part of a Campground Area. Give it a shot KEVIN, It's kind of a Retro Diner w/ Great Burgers & Fries, Stop In.
Check My answer about a hotel near Peninsula Drive.
Yes, saw many while we were there. I didn't notice any signs posted, but if you contact the park office they can give you better details.
Yup you can do both. There might limits to the boogie boards but if you go on the weekends there is no limits.
Maybe just put a post up about it,,call the park rangers, ask about the lost and found
I haven't seen anyone kicked out for wearing a thong bikini but there aren't usually very many there
No floatation devices except for US Coast Guard approved life jackets and swim vests.
Perry's monument is the best spot
There are designated areas. They will have life guards on duty at the areas you can swim at.
Absolutely, there are even small ponds inside the state park.
You have to to down the tom ridge center and apply for a permit and the beach isn't private but they reserve it for you and they have you pick a couple choices I used beach 11
We went to beach 10, it was great and very family friendly.
It's ALWAYS been FREE to Go to & Walk on BEAUTIFUL "PRESQUE ISLE BEACH Connie. Once You get there, You WILL LOVE the BEACH.
It's a public beach and part of a state park so presumably the laws of Pennsylvania apply. Indecent exposure only includes the exposure of genitalia, no mention of buttocks so legally it should be fine.
Because of the temperature fluctuations a good amount of leaves are just turning brown and falling instead of changing colors.
They say along the shore of Presque. I really wasn't looking.
There are bike paths and in October the weather is a little on the cooler side
When I was there recently, we didn't see any in the water. Maybe call ahead and ask or look on their website
They have a hose hooked up outside the mens changing room to allow you to rinse sand off but you are out in the open
I agree, beach ten. I found some nice rocks and a few fossils
On the back of the lifeguard chairs, it says no pets. I wonder if they just don't want them on the actual beaches where the life guards are though.
Yes!
Carrie, There is a nice Campground, It's called SARA'S CAMPGROUND. It's located on Peninsula Drive going into PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK. It's on the right side behind a Great Diner called SARA'S CAMPGROUND. Check it out, I think that You & Your Family will like it. GOOD LUCK.🏖️🏊🚣⛱️
You can swim on the beaches with a lifeguard on duty but only up to your knees on the beaches without one
At one point in time all the beaches had picnic tables. Since it flooded out, I'm not sure now.
Open every day
Yes
Yes. There are several launch points
Yes. Most open at noon but you can swim earlier. I know beaches 11, 9, and 6 restrooms are open too
The did not say anything when i went 2 times last week
Some beaches are. Some aren't
I was there In june and at some of the beaches they were open
yes you can bring a cooler no alcohol and its free to go
I was on Presque Isle beach 10 (I think, I dont know the numbers) on the 6th. A pretty good turnout.
Yes
You can be on Presque ie until 11 pm, but driv8ng in a vehicle. When the lifeguards leave, you cannot Swim, but you can be on the beach.
I have taken my dog up there. I take her leash and bags to clean up after her. 😁 Also have seen people walking their dogs, doesn't seem to be any specific spots or signs. So, I would say yes. I wouldn't let them run free tho, because there are protected species and other wildlife there. 😀
I was always told that beach 9 is the most dog friendly
I believe there are quiet a few of those built in grills that are typical found at similar parks.
Not that I am aware of, no. But restaurants are near by
All free
Yes
Memorial Day weekend
They are open now.
No camping on Beach.
I'm not sure but I am sure the water is very cold.
Call to the Visitors Center and talk to the Park Rangers
You cant, the entrance to presque isle will have a sign. On that sign will be the best of beaches. All that are open an closed will be listed. Any advisories as well. Pretty sure the only beaches you can swim at are the beaches with lifeguards on duty.
Beach 1 I believe. Took my lab to all of the beaches when it was to cold to swim and he went wild
I'll let you know tomorrow
Some, but there's little restaurants around that are yummy and kid friendly!
We stayed at days inn it was nice an they except pets very family friendly
Yes, I saw someone doing that when I was there.
It may vary per beach..@ beach one I saw signs posted no smoking will be fined...i plan on going this weekend I'll recheck and take pics
Yes you can
Yes I believe so
There's a Campground on PENINSULA DRIVE called Sara's, but it's NOT FREE. You are NOT ALLOWED to camp anywhere on the Beaches in PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK, Unless rules have CHANGED.
Yes please bring all the girls :)
NO, YOU CAN NOT SMOKE WEED IN ANY PART OF THE BEACH AREA, EVEN IF IT'S COMPLETELY DESOLATE OR JUST COMPLETELY BLOWN UP BY A NUCLEAR DEVICE. (it would'nt be any fun w/ no one to yell at you) THERE'S ALWAYS PARK POLICE OR UNDERCOVER POLICE PATROLLING THE PARK.
Yes just no guard on duty
Dogs are ALLOWED on the Beaches at PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK, but HAVE TO BE on a leash. If NOT, You will either be cited or arrested DEPENDING on what OFFENSE was committed by the FURRY POOCH. MAKE SURE that You bring a Pooper Scooper & some sort of baggie for the Dog Poop.
Well Jordan, Picnics are WELCOMED on the Beach at "PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK". But, Alcohol is NOT Allowed bc of PAST PROBLEMS w/ Partiers. STATE PARK POLICE will be on site & they patrol regularly. BE SMART & DON'T DRINK. I'm a PARENT & GRANDPAP & I still watch out for People.
Unfortunately Destiny, The Water in LAKE ERIE has NEVER been CLEAR, but it's NOT totally FILTHY either. There are a MAJOR Mixture of SAND & STONE at "PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK". It's STILL a BEAUTIFUL stretch of SANDY BEACHES & COOL LAKE Water to Swim in. Go & Enjoy it, You'll LOVE IT.
I don't believe that PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK has a Motorcycle Helmet Law. Since the STATE of PA passed a State Bill stating that Motorcyclists didn't need to wear Safety Helmets anymore, A lot of Counties & Parks don't require helmets while riding.
