Hi, My daughter just joined the Navy. She has been stationed and cannot take the love of her life, Douglas, a 2 year old DSH orange kitty, with her. We would love to actually find him a home and not have to put him in the shelter. Ideas??

Austin is a no kill city and so he would be safe at a shelter if that was the only option. Generally he should be returned from where he was apldopted from. All surrenders are done by apt if she adopted from a animal facility and any reputable breeder would allow you to return him to them. However because the kitty is your daughters and not yours that complicates the surrender because they need permission from your daughter.

I was considering that. Paying the fee and telling his story. Hoping someone would get him right away. It breaks our heart to put him in a cage. He’s actually from Washington state, we rescued him when he was a tiny guy. Then he traveled to Austin with her. ❤️

You can surrender him to the humane society and if you pay his adoption fee you can probably get him adopted with the day
