The Consumer Product Safety Commission does not allow old, unsafe children's equipment to be sold by thrift stores or other resellers. You can give it to an individual but you are not supposed to sell it. We only accept children's equipment which is less than 5 years old and in excellent condition because we do not want to cause harm to any children. A lot of the children's equipment we do accept we give to a couple who have a Crib Ministry - they give cribs and other items to people in need. We are a small Non Profit thrift store and we cannot afford to accept items which are old, unsafe or up to current standards. As consumers, we each responsible for the proper disposal of our old stuff.
