Hi Shannon - At the Dumb Friends League, we're an open admissions shelter, meaning we open our doors to all animals in need—whether they’re old, ill, injured, unwanted or lost. Our goal is to find a loving home for every adoptable animal that comes through our doors. The end result is that we have an 100% placement rate for all healthy cats and dogs, with a total live release rate of 90%.
Yes they will put down some animals that are not going to be adopted but for the most part they try very hard if a dog is not a dangerous animal to get it a forever home! No adoptable animals are put down!
Yes.
DFL is a kill Shelter. When i worked there we took in 80 to 100 animals a day. Our adoption rate was 49% so do the math. However a lot of new programs like the Foster Program & Cruelty Department was able to take a lot of animals that would have otherwise been put down. Its so sad
But they don't on any animal that is not dangerous the want to adopt them out
My daughter volunteers there, and they are the best non profit animal shelter in the state. They provide so many services to people that can't otherwise afford them, like low cost shots, and neutering. But yes, if an animal is dangerous they do put them down.
They are dedicated to finding homes. We got our last dog there. Go talk to them it is easy to see how much they care.
Yes they are a kill shelter. They only put down animals that cannot be socialized safely to humans. They do not kill healthy adoptable animals. I've gotten my last four dogs from them. I am grateful to DDFL for my furry family members, and I will go to them again.
No. As I stated Clearly in my review. If not based on my review, apologize. If so... Read?
