A friend or family to have them stay with even if they are out of town. If you owner surrender the pet then they will not just hold them for you. They will be put up for adoption.
Fosters are about the only way to insure you will get him back. Call Dumb Friends League, Planned Pets Plus, look on Yelp, check dog fosters online. Good luck!
Look for fosters who could keep him until you get a place. If you take him to a rescue (such as Dumb Friends) you will not get him back.
