They have some limited temporary kennels for cats. For dogs I'm not sure. the volunteers are very helpful, just call them once they're open.
Cats and small animals get to ride in a corrugate carrier/kennel. Some larger cats may find it uncomfortable. Our Gracie had a small scrape on her nose when we finally got home, but it was minor and healed well. If you want to take special care, get a kennel beforehand.
I have adopted dogs at the denver location, and the castle rock location. They provide temporary kennels for the cats, and rabbits, but not for dogs. The staff at both locations are very sweet. They tell you everything they know about the animals before youeven see them. They make sure you know what you're getting into. I loved that fact too. I mow have Max, and Lucy, and we love both of them.
When I took my dog home there were no kennels. I was able to buy a leash and collar there. It might be good to get some basics before you bring the dog home.
