It depend on when you are traveling. If you are not traveling within two month you will be fine. They charge 65 dollar USPS money order for expedite to be received within a week. My appointment was on Oct 16, 2018 and my collection date was Dec 23. So I have to pay the money because I need my passport before then. I hope this helps. You can call innovate to change your appointment date if is possible.

I think the 1 week for expediting is not accurate. I interviewed Oct 31st, paid $65 and still haven't received my passports despite following all instructions and the people there telling me i will receive in a week. I'm travelling on 11/14 and I'm very frustrated.

I don't have an appointment date yet. It seems like I will have to go in anytime because I have the application, receipt and acknowledgement printed out. I didn't even get a registration confirmation email.
