I was attacked by a bird at Presque Isle this morning. Afterwards a girl walking towards me heard me scream and saw me holding my head. She asked if I was just attacked by a bird because she was too! What can be done about this horrible situation?

Birds will protect their nests and babies, it's nature and they are wild animals. Presque Isle is a nature preserve.

Carry a tennis racquet to fend off unwanted attackers.

I did not feed seagulls. I was minding my own business taking a nice walk. The park ranger station said they need to make big signs and warn people more. It happened to 2 of us there within only a few minutes, and I'm sure there will be more. Thanks people for some of your comments...and yes they have some aggresive birds. Go find out for yourself. Wear a hat!! HA!

If your near a nest you will be attacked

Aleks Krysa | Oct 30, 2018

This is the time of year for nesting birds, such as Robins, which are very protective around their nests. They usually will give you loud, audible warnings that you are coming too close to their nest. Be alert!

Call the park rangers then animal control, Presque Isle doesn't have any aggressive native birds.
