I visit RCJC every week. You go through the metal detector, then someone buzzes you into the visiting area. They ask who you are visiting and ask for your ID. They look at it, write your name on a sign-in sheet on a clip board, then hand it back. Then they assign you a visiting booth. It's a video visitation so the inmate stays in his/her block and you sit in a room on the floor level talking on a hand set and looking at a screen. If you've done your time, you should not be worried about visiting someone. They don't even write down your drivers license number, they are not looking for warrants. I've only seen one person sent away and that was because the person they wanted to visit had already had a visitor that week. FYI: the visiting week starts on Monday.
