I was assaulted in Gainesville Tx, I have pictures evidence and a witness. Can I come here to file charges or do I have to go through their county

I do believe that you have to go to the county that it happened in unless you're afraid that you can't get a fair trial there

Go to the police station and file a police report. The polive report will get sent off to the District Attorney's Office in been reviewed in about 2-4 weeks. Once the report is reviewed by the district attorney... If it has weight and can be pushed for conviction... They will bench a warrent for tge arrest of the suspect. Also.... If they cannot get a arrest by the second month they will have the constables or sherrifs department go to look fpr him.
