I would agree with only hiking early morning or late evening when it's cooler. I would also warn about wildlife. I met up with a coyote at dusk one night. Didn't bother me or my dog but just be aware.

August is gonna be a killer hot! Start at 5am !

Raymond Stelmaszak | Oct 27, 2018

Temps in August are low of 80° up to 105° with only 2 days of rain.

T.O. Wildcat | Oct 27, 2018

Early morning or late evening when it's cooler but watch out for snakes. NOT during the day!!! The heat is much more deadly than the snakes.

No. I live out in the area. Last summer in August, it wasn't uncommon to have 101° at 4 o'clock in the morning. Only went down hill from there :(

David Welker | Oct 27, 2018

I avoid these trails June until about mid September. Just too hot and July and August can get very humid
