I would not recommend swimming at the Lake. Water is not safe! Fishing and hiking are available. Be aware: Ticks and Snakes are out.. I think restrooms open around 10 or 11. The boathouse offers maps, water and other stuff. Prepare accordingly
Legally swimming is allowed in Lake Springfield but would I recommend it, probably not. The park may also not let you swim off their bank.

you can swim at lake Springfield but I wouldnt. you can fish and kayak there and they have trails you can walk and see alot of wildlife. It's a very pretty lake. But also a very small lake. But the area has lots of lakes you can swim and boat at less than an hour away in every direction
I suppose you could but I certainly wouldn't. Walking with my kids yesterday, got about three feet from the put in and saw a baby cotton mouth. Also icky water.
