Hi, Curtis! That is pretty neat that you have some family history with the land that is now McCloud Nature Park! The Hendricks County Park Board owns all 232 acres of McCloud, however, and no, hunting for geodes and fossils is not allowed on park property. Since it is a nature park, we don't allow anything to be removed from the park, including geodes and fossils.
As long as you don't destroy the land you should be able to no problem. If you go during daytime business hours, they have a park building ran by humans that you can clarify for sure.
