CT Scans are not very helpful for the diagnosis of cruciate tears. The diagnosis is generally made on physical exam though in some cases arthroscopy is required. A CT scan of my grandma's cat's nasopharynx area ran $1,500. Not sure if it would be a different amount for a knee...
