BluePearl is the cleanest pet hospital I have been in. The waiting room is comfortable with complimentary beverage options. The staff is very friendly and upfront about expected wait times. I was there for 4 hours which I feel is reasonable since it is an emergency hospital and my dog was not in a life or death emergency. The vet spent plenty time to ensure I knew the treatment plan and also made me aware of preventative treatment options for the future. Their prices were reasonable for the service my dog received and the fact that it is an emergency hospital.

Refused medical assistance for my cat. Placed in a room with no intention of being seen by a vet. Just to patronize me. I grew tired of waiting and left. Poor care or human compassion for my cat. They thought my anxiety over my sick cat was a joke. Laughed at me as I exited the building.

We had a good experience at Blue Pearl. My dog, Leena, came down with a nasty infection and high temp after chemo treatment and I rushed her here for IV fluids and antibiotics. While we did wait close to 5 hours to be seen, the staff is exceptional. They are kind, compassionate and care about the animals. The ICU nurses were especially great and I appreciated their friendliness over the phone when I called to check in on how Leena was doing. The waiting room is big, clean and they have coffees and teas available while you wait. The price is steep, I won't lie. They have you put down a deposit before treating your pet which is the average estimate they give. Luckily for us the actual cost was over $1000 less than what we were quoted. All in all, if you're in an emergency and can't get your animal to UC Davis, this is a good place to go.

Questions & Answers

So I’m planning on getting a ferret but I want to know that a reliable vet is near. So my question is that do they work with/help ferrets?

They work with a variety of pets but their charter (& pricing) is as an emergency pet get service provider. So I'd suggest finding a primary get instead.....

SVS is an emergency hospital. It costs $95 consultation for emergency cases. Then they give you an estimate for possible procedures. Which will range depending on severity of injury.
