8 is usually the start time of the opening band. You can enter after 6:30 and as late as you want. Drinks are quite costly so some people hang outside until the main band starts.

Doors open at 6:30. Went to Beck last night and there was no line to get in but for the Killers it extended out one the piers so I guess it depends. Even then, though, had no problem getting in and finding a good spot. They have 25% happy hour until the first band goes on.

The line management was done really well for the Decemberists, The Anthem is run by 930 Club, professional and friendly. I got in line at 430pm, we moved inside at 630pm, and I was in the front row, super easy. The earliest people were there at 4pm.

I didn't turn up for The Decemberists until the support band were already on (about 8pm I think). There was a line out front but it moved quickly and I was able to get a standing position in the front half of the hall no problem.
