Very disappointed. Was denied entry for the first time in August because an online appointment is needed (not indicated anywhere on the website). No appointment available until two weeks later. When I showed up the second time the officer asked for way more supporting documents than what’s listed on the website, e.g. bank statements for the past three months, round-trip air tickets, copies of past Korean visa stamps and college diploma, etc. To avoid further hassle I gave up my application. There’s only one window to process visa application (2 weeks processing time) and it’s first come first serve. Very unorganized and inefficient.

There are people who may feel strange at the cool appearance of the people stamping behind the window. Please understand.
As of 5/11/2021, the guidance I received from the consulate; 1. Need to make an appointment online (from their website) 2. bring your current Korean passport 3. Green card (and any associated letters from USCIS if your green card is expired, pending adjudication) 4. $53 (cash) filing fee 5. passport photo of the applicant. Hope this helps and good luck!

You can do it over the internet.
If you are older than 60, it's fine, but if not, you have to prove your crime. You can go to Korea and apply for a residence permit again. If you have a residence in Korea, you must go to that place and bring a contract for the place of residence. I live in Virginia too. Likewise, my majestic expired, so I made it again. It takes some time as you have to notarize the criminal fact certificate. Good job~
