Apparently there are cash tolls and transponder only tolls. You should be able to check Google maps to at least identify the toll roads and plot routes around them. We hit one cash toll on 528 just before Hwy 4.N which had none up to Maitland. If you're going to Kissimmee we always go south out of MCO to Erlo Bronson.
You can avoid tolls depending where you are going. Google maps has an option to avoid tolls. It may take a little longer to get to places though. The transponder like someone said is a good idea if you will be going back and forth a lot through toll roads. I was able to avoid tolls when I was there. I mainly visited the winter Park area, downtown Orlando and went to the main resort areas.
You can pay cash for tolls, but getting the Transponder is inexpensive and convenient if you will be traveling around.
The tolls are $1.00 and $1.50 for the ones we went through. for a total of $5.00 for our entire 2 week trip. So unless you are going on the toll road back and forth a lot, it is cheaper to just pay the toll.
You can choose either but if you don't pay the transponder ans by mistake you pass for the lane, you will get a fine, so just be careful
You can pay them there it is $10 a day
You can pay them a fixed fee and they cover the tolls while you have the car or you can pay the tolls directly in cash. The hard part is determining whether their fixed fee is more or less than what you would pay directly for the tolls. The danger with paying the tolls directly is if you miss one they will assess you a penalty for not paying the toll and that is very expensive. If your staying in the Orlando area I would recommend paying them for their toll package as I could foresee racking a large amount of tolls. If you planning on leaving the Orlando area then I would recommend paying them direct.
