Yes as above, but interestingly the word manzano does not refer to an apple in the oldtimers vernacular, the sevilleta does not refer to a napkin, and ladrones does mean thieves,because many a famous outlaw hid out there sich as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. And pinos more aptlly refers to piñones. And to the south you have the little black mountain Turututu, which is actually the top of the volcano 25 miles to the south in the malpais. It is a solid mass of basalt referred to as a basaltic core that was blown all the way to hwy 60 from hwy 308 south of Socorro. That must have been a sight! Lots of rattlesnakes after a spring rain, mucho cuidado.
The Manzanos Mountains are north of Hwy 60, and thus north of the sevilleta. To the east on Sevilleta NWR land are the Los Pinos Mountains. To the northwest barely on Sevilleta NWR land are the Sierra Ladrones.
