For a place that offers no fee camping the upkeep on the park is awesome. I would recommend camping at the southern end where Verdigre Creek flows in if you have small children. The water is clear, cold and about 2 feet deep most of the way.

This is a very nice, free place to camp. It can get a little crowded during the peak season, though. I enjoy fishing for trout in the creek. A good base camp for visiting Ashfall.

Nice and peaceful place to sit and reflect. They have camping and a place to put your boat in.
