This is a beautiful park. The trails are well maintained and have plenty of platforms for viewing wildflife. Herons, wood ducks, swallows, and wigeons can be seen all over the lake. Warblers and woodpeckers can be seen, or at least heard, in the forested area.

Easy walking, trail does narrow from time to time. Lots of dogs, always leashed. Lovely trail to oaks Park and back, 1 hr or so round trip (with few stops)

Ducks! We have made this a frequent destination for nature walks with the little ones. The wetlands offer seasonal variety, with the most colorful display towards late summer. We have seen many types of birds (including herons), frogs, snails, slugs, caterpillars, and even deer! Evidence of beavers is frequently seen, but we haven't been able to confirm any moving shadows to belong to one. Always ducks.

A sweet spot to be in nature. It's stuffed with ducks & birds, making it a fun spot for birders, and you can even hear a rare species of frog on the west side closer to the river. If you want to extend your walk, I suggest making it over to the river and getting a great view of downtown PDX.

If you're into a longer hike, you can always park near the East Bank Esplanade, then walk the spring water corridor to Oaks Bottom, that part of the Corridor is beautiful.
No. Not in the refuge. However the Willamette river is right there as well. Enjoy.
Nope. It's all for birds and fish and critters.
I'll look tomorrow for you.
Yes there is a trail along the river as well with many access points to go swimming
Last year there was an eagle's nest above the lagoon by Sellwood Park, but I have not seen any eagle activity in that area this year.
