George (the chef) was INCREDIBLY friendly. I love Oregon for how kind people are but you don’t always get that in Portland. The entire staff was great. The food was also wonderful! I got a queso breakfast burrito, and quite possibly the best corn chowder I’ve ever had.

A Portland original. Besides all the great food and beverages and facilities and superb staff members, they are fantastic caterers too! P.S. Recently I was in their area and at a postal store and accidentally locked my keys in my car! With my head hung low I asked an associate at Elephants delicatessen for help. They brought out their phone and on their personal account requested a ride service that took me on the round-trip a few miles back home for emergency backup keys and returned to the restaurant. I cannot adequately express how I felt about this deeply empathetic gesture. I am speechless with gratitude. Thank you is hardly sufficient. I was taken care of in an unpleasant circumstance and felt safe and comfortable. Elephants is more than just a great place. Blessings and Gratitude Cheers Malcolm

This place has great food. While I was in Portland I went here twice. Had a breakfast burrito, then went back later for soup and salad. Cookies looked so good I had to try one of each and they did not disappoint.

This place was bomb! Customer service was A+! The tomato soup was honestly the best I’ve had in a while, went perfect with my Tuna melt. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cocktails also super on point ! Two meals, two drinks, one small dessert $47. Not bad considering it’s an upscale lunch spot. I would absolutely come back, even if it was just for the cool nick nacks surrounding the counters. No menu, you just walk around the loop and order either pizza or hot food at either of two counters. You can also do already prepared cold food. Hi Donnie, In addition to housemade pastries, we serve hot items like breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and frittatas every day of the week. Like Ben said, we offer weekend brunch with a full brunch menu (including brunch cocktails) Sat and Sun until 2:30 pm. Cheers!
