A great experience for young and old. Lots of places to sit and rest. Seeing the longhorn cattle in person walking down the street is memorable. For $5 you can take a pic on a bull, $15 a wagon ride and horse riding available for fee. There is a maze, a street shoot out with sheriff and gun slingers. Train robbery skit. Lots of shops and places to eat. Cons is bottle water $4. Otherwise a great activity for families, friends etc.
Pros: lots to do and see Cons: no public restrooms, other than in a restaurant.
Terrific area museum in old coliseum (1906)heart of Texas.
Ita a wonderful piece of history and the texas long horn cattle are amazing
It has lost some of the old history because of the new growth and some people do not understand that sometimes things are better left alone
RiRi, the public restrooms are down by the train station ticket booth. LOTS of restrooms. Matthew, a con may be the concerns regarding the commercialization of The Stockyards. It's been "real" this long and now the council is allowing new growth, at what is considered by the old-timers, at a rapid pace potentially losing its true self.
There r alot of restrooms
It is reminiscent of the old cattle town. Clean, lots of shops, can eat and drink. Really a nice place.
There is a daily cow parade.
We loved that there is a lot of things to do for both young and older. There seemed to be a lot of parking so that was great too. The only con I could think of was that there wasn't a huge variety of restaurants but I really had to think hard about a con of this awesome little town!
