Does it really close at 5:30? Sun sets later in the evening now, so I wonder if the trails stay open longer now in the summer?

It closes at sunset. Yes, actual time varies throughout the year. Gates are locked by Park Ranger. So be sure to have your car out on time.

Just don't be on the mountain after dark. Park ranger is now giving tickets instead of warnings. As long as you're at your vehicle, you'll be ok.

Hi Nicole, Google does not allow for 'seasonal' hours, it has to be a set time. Yes, sunset is approx. 7:30ish, so the park will be open until around that time. Thunderbird Conservation Park is ALWAYS open sunrise to sunset, year round.
