What's the best time to start hiking and how far is the hike? I only have half a day, will this be worth the trip and hike to do in the early morning? Is there any unexpected costs or entrance fees? Is this good for kids 10yrs old?

This is a short hike, but there is a lot of rock scrambling (I saw some young kids loving it). It is getting pretty warm out so start as early as you can. It is a fun trail with a wonderful view at the end! Red rock does have an entry fee.

Do not underestimate the heat and lack of humidity. Do not start this hike, THIS time of year, after 10AM. UNLESS you enjoy 105+ temps, and higher. It's about an hour up and an hour back, unless you have no experience, then it's 90-120 minutes each way. Be safe, start early, bring a LOT of water.
