Check with a ranger at the Bear Valley visitor center. They have good information. A reasonably fit person can hike to the Mt. Wittenberg peak in 40 minutes and get back in 30.
There are so many trails there... You can do a quick hike or a long hike. It's entirely up to you... most trails are loops, but you can always turn around and head back whenever you want. The beauty is amazing there!
Yes, there are some quick hike paths there. Especially the Indian trail which will take you to an Indian village. The views are especially breathing. You will love it.
