Very clean visitor center, with ample restrooms. The staff was really friendly and helpful for finding hikes. We saw a snake outside the visitor center, and hit the local trails nearby. Definitely could spend two or three days exploring this park, the beaches, local towns, and plenty of hikes. Surprised this place is not a national park!

A fantastic visitors center with plenty of gifts, advice, and an amazing exhibit of wildlife.

Lovely visitor center and a great place to stop to/from Point Reyes. The sign could do with a repaint though :-) Center has various exhibits. There are great walks through the woods down to Santa Maria beach.

I liked it, you just need to read the info on displayed n imagine. Wish I had time I would have done one of the hikes. It can all be an adventure, just get into it.

Dogs are not allowed on any trails near the visitor center. You could take your pet to Limantour Beach which is about 15 minutes away and where dogs are permitted to the left of the beach entry trail.
Not really, dogs aren't allowed on most trails, and the few spaces they are allowed, they must be on leash.
Yes
You should be able to pick up that pass at any National Park. I believe the bear valley center does have these passes available but you could always call ahead to double check. You can reach them at 415-464-5100. There is also an online form you can fill out to get the pass mailed too you as well.
The visitor center and the light house are closed during the shut down. All park bathrooms are closed as well. Park access, trails and beaches are open. The garbage cans are over flowing so you may want to bring resources to take out anything you bring in.
Pretty sure it is not legal to take anything from a national park.
Yes. There's a huge parking lot, a bathroom, and a picnic area. You can tell everyone to meet up at the picnic area.
