Good example of local flora and fauna. Suitable hands on exhibits make it interactive for children. The local hiking trails allow are nice. When available the telescopic view of the nesting eagles are amazing. Great place to take the family.

Big Bear Discovery center is under renovation at moment in month of March 2022 but still you can visit and ask for map or any other help. There is near by trail which is very good Short trail. Also we spent some time and had our lunch as they have plenty of picnic tables available. Parking lot is available and there was plenty of parking available when we visited March 2022.

This is a great family oriented place to visit with plenty to do. Some of the highlights are the taxidermy animals, the rear bear skin, the echo area outside, the gift shop, the live feed where you can watch the 1 year old Eaglet, the rock and early Americana. Exhibit as well as lots of hiking trails with plenty opportunities to take nature photos

Dogs are very welcomed at the Discovery Center , we volunteer's spoil them.
It closes for the winter.
Yes it's remodeling but they are still open for all of the outdoor fun!
Hi Perry, Currentlly the Discovery Center is closed for remodeling so our parking lot is also closed.
We are still closed, as is the parking lot as well.
You are asking this on a bulletin board type of page not their website. It might be better to call them or go into the facility to show your interest. I suspect a lot of the people there are volunteers.

Yes. Also the last concert of the season will be on that Saturday. Don't know who it is.
Not sure about online or not, the parking pass is a $5 forest adventure pass that you can purchase at just about any sporting goods store, gas station, or liquor store etc.. also the visitors center and ranger stations will always have these on hand.
