I absolutely love this Campground, one of my favorites in Big Bear. Due to water shortages though there are only porta johns and the flush toilets are non-operational but you still have running water at spigot's.

We just stayed for Friday and Saturday night and had a great time! Great campground! The camp host made his rounds and was available, but wasn't intrusive. The bathrooms smelled good on Friday, but were definitely smellier by Saturday night, but still clean. No flushing toilets, as noted on the rec.gov website. No sinks or mirrors, but a water faucet outside the bathrooms. No showers, but we brought a basic one and it did the trick. The map makes it look like there is more space between sites than there is, however, our spot felt nice and roomy, spot 87. There was enough space between neighboring sites though that it did not feel crowded. Wood was available to buy for camp fires, we brought our own though, but some had been left behind by someone else and we left behind what we had left over. The bear box easily held our medium cooler and other food items and dishes. We did not see any bears though. It felt like most of the people who camped there were there "to camp", not party, so overall, it was very quiet at night. The dirt road to the camp ground is pretty long, probably about 5 miles. Most of it is maintained, but there is a couple of miles that is not maintained and is very rough, especially if in a car. We drove through the Serrano camp ground, near the lake and it also looked very nice and roomy. Definitely a more convenient location to the town of Big Bear. They had full bathrooms with stalls, sinks and soap and separate, individual shower rooms. Easy push button showers, clean, but the water didn't get very warm. I might try Serrano next time, but Hanna Flat was still a great place to tent camp!

Cool campground, and a bit off the main road so not many people know about it. We went the week BEFORE memorial day, so it was empty. It is very clean, and well maintained. There is a bike/hike trail right in the middle of the campground that goes to Grays Peak.

No they do not, if you have Verizon you may have a signal through out camp
There's a little bit of signal for Verizon networks, and you miiiight be able to find one bar for AT&T networks if you're willing to climb hills. But no, there's nothing strong or reliable
Yes
The roads are not well maintained and very rough in sections. Any RV should be able to pass but do a very thorough inspection of stuff to secure everything before going down these roads. Note that most sites in Hanna are to small for big RVs so check that your chosen site to reserve will accommodate it.
There are sites specifically for walk on camping. If you are trying to cancel, there is a link in the email you get when you book the reservation. It's usually not too full.
They had a few first come first serve sites. I don't remember the exact number but it was less than 5.
I was there last week. Approx 3ft Wide, 30in tall, 2ft deep.
Possibly, you have to be there early to grab the spots. There were at least 15 non-reserved spots.
Yes, you might have to drive very slow to not damage your vehicle
No showers, although Serrano is not far and for 3 dollars you can shower there.
There is a small town about 10 miles away
I would call ahead just to check.....but we just camped there a couple nights ago and we were the only campers on the grounds, aside from the hosts.
Right at the entrance by the dumpsters.
Yes you can tent camp in an RV spot however you must pay the RV price. $45. Per night.
I think you meant cost. The charges are 27 per night.
