You can just walk in, but their free guided tours start every hour and they're very informational. They'll give you the history behind everything and every room. Definitely recommend the guided tour
You can walk-in during open hours.
You can walk around in the rotunda and open areas. A little better with a tour as you get a peek at the govenor s office, house and Senate chambers. Tours are free.

Yoi can walk in but if you go on the tour you get a lottle more access and a lot more info.

I recommend a tour. It is brilliant. You can rock up every hour on the hour for a tour. Make it a date with your hubby :)
