Actually any any time, i thought it would be packed in the summer especially in july, but it wasn't. Ive gone every month with my boys, including winter, and its never packed. But to see all that they have, June through September, is the best.
There are excellent reasons to go just about any time of year. All the African animals are out during the summer, but most of them are off exhibit in the colder months. They do have giraffe viewing indoors when they're in now. That just opened last winter. But the snow leopard doesn't like the heat, so you probably won't see it. Late autumn is great if you want to see the animals being active. They still have the seals and sea lions out, and they love it, since they're used to the chilly temperatures. Spring is fun because they have lots of baby animals (though there have been a few births recently, in late summer). Many people think the zoo would be closed in winter, but it is open year round, so if you prefer to have the zoo to yourself, essentially, winter is good too. Bundle up and enjoy the animals that like the cold. The zoo usually offers promotions to entice people to come in the winter since attendance is so much lower. Get a membership. Totally worth it.
Spring/summer/fall. We went one of the warmer days this last winter. Very few of the animals were outside (penguin, seals, lions, rhinos, and red pandas) Understandably, the animals that were out spent a lot of time in their shelters. We got to see the giraffes and rhinos up close within their indoor enclosures which was pretty cool
We went this winter and summer. Both times were good. Nice little zoo.
Go in the summer it will be the best time of youre life
I think mid spring is the best time to go to the BPZ.
I love going innthe spring when the lilacs are in bloom, but forbsure any day that younwould want to be outside!
I like taking my kids late summer and early fall, there are more animals on display then.
