No. The Bridge runs along/parallel to part of the Riverbend Trail, thus, it os always open. Please follow safety procedures though.

I have been out there many times when the bridge has been closed. It opens early, once someone can get there after sunrise. It closes around sunset. As the bridge has no one on site as staff, they open and close the gates as staff (which travel the area) gets there while making their normal rounds.

You’d be insane to be out there after dark, regardless of the hours. Use common sense.

Sunrise to sunset. There is a formidable metal gate. Suggest you enter on Illinois side. This bridge is not always open.

The bridge does have hours. But I can't remember. I ride my bike across the bridge in the summer.
