Drive down to San Antonio from Dallas and visit it. The Alamo is located there its only a day trip from Dallas unless you decide to stay in San Antonio there is alot to do there so worth the visit
Alamo is in San Antonio, it’s located near the River Walk and it’s 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Austin. But, it’s very far from Dallas around 5hrs plus of driving
We were there yesterday and I agree with the collective group - it is still the place to visit. The grounds and the mission are completely open. I didn't know about the expansion plans, but now the privacy walls outside the Alamo make sense. You have access to the entire site inside the walls. Just standing there always leaves me in awe.... Definitely the place to be

The Alamo has been under construction since the city took it over from the DAR. They are planning to take as much land às they can so they can showcase the entirety of the battlefield. Last I heard, they planned to put up glass walls to show it. Don't know if they still plan to. There will eventually be yours that cost between free and $40.
Visit the Alamo. Well worth the trip 🙂
Skip Dallas and go to the Alamo.
As someone commented, Dallas is a city whereas Alamo is a historical site. Alamo in a couple of hours. Dallas a week
The Alamo is awesome. If you want to go inside the church you will have to make a reservation which is free. The rest of the Alamo is open to walk through. Yes it is a 5 1/2 trip from Dallas, depending on traffic. I took the toll roads 3 weeks ago
Before you visit the Alamo, learn at least the basic history. Google is your friend. While what is left of the Alamo is only the chapel and part of the Long Barracks, some Google Images will help you understand how large the presido actually was. Almost the entirety of the battlefield has been built over. My opinion only, but without understanding the size of the original battlefield, the Alamo can be underwhelming.
Are you asking about visiting one or the other? I personally have never been to Dallas ... but the Alamo is awesome from history aspect 😊 just check times as it does close pretty early
