I've seen ppl with small and medium size dogs walking at the tea garden. I wouldn't go with an unfriendly monster on a leash because the paths, stairs, and small bridges are NARROW and you wouldn't be able to keep a dangerous dog fully isolated or under your control if people can pass thru next to you, people will come very close to your pet unless you stay in the open areas of the park.

It really is a small place BUT you could spend a couple of hours or so enjoying the outside and all the beauty the garden has to offer.
Ok so you probably will walk less than a mile through the entire garden. The pond has turtles, koi and many trees and shrubs surrounding it. The paths allow strollers and such. Many different rock arrangements adorn the garden along with the architecture. Enjoy the garden!

The only thing that you pay for is to get into the theatre part if there's an activity going on, like the cajun festival Taste of New Orleans every year during fiesta time, but to get into the actual gardens, no. Its beautiful and relaxing. Unless they are cleaning them, the koi fish ponds are great and unless its turned off, they have a beautiful waterfall that is calming. There's a walkway that leads straight to the zoo. You'll love it! ❤
