no it really isn't broken down or anything.
The actual area the mission originally had was larger than the Alamo you see now. However, various parts have changed through the years (i.e.,the roof was added to the church after the famous battle.)
It's smaller than it was originally. It's all restored nicely.
It's always being fixed. Quite interesting and educational. The grounds are beautiful. Free to wander or you can pay for a guided tour.
What is there now isn't exactly what was there 150 years ago. The city has grown up around the original mission site. It's lovely there and well maintained. You get a very informative visit there even if you don't pay for any of the 'tours '.
