Will a train from Annandale NJ go directly to NY, or must you switch in Newark?

You will need to download the NJ transit app and look at the schedule. You can also buy your ticket from the app. Not all trains go into NYC. I can tell you for sure that the M-F 9:22 am train does go into NYC. When you look at the schedule if it says transfer you will go to Newark and take the train from track 1 or 2 usually. If it does NOT say transfer it will stop at Newark Penn, but then go to Secaucus then to NYC
