Easy to get to. Some trains end at Silver Spring if they do not go all the way to Glenmont so it's great that you don't have to transfer to another train in those cases.

Usually you'd be able to take it to Metro Center to get on the Blue/Orange to Falls Church but the southbound Red Line is closed at Silver Spring until December 10th. You can take a free shuttle bus to Ft. Totten at Silver Spring and continue on the Red Line from there on the 3rd.
Red Line trains run every 8-20min depending on time of day. MARC trains headed towards Union Station come roughly every 20-25min 6am-9am Monday to Friday. Trains headed to Martinsburg, Brunswick or Frederick only run in the late afternoon/early evening, also only Monday to Friday. Check www.wmata.com for Metro information or for MARC, go to https://www.mta.maryland.gov/schedule/marc-brunswick
Just DC Metro (WMATA) & MARC
Not directly. You can take either a MARC train or the Red Line on Metro to Union Station. There you can take either the MARC Penn Line or one of the many Amtrak trains that pass through Baltimore. Getting to Union Station, if you are traveling during rush hour times, the MARC will provide a more direct trip to Union. The Red Line on Metro has more stops, however it runs much longer and more frequently.
That depends on what day and time you're traveling. If you're going midday, the intercity bus is $5. That fare is maybe twice as much on weekday mornings and evenings. You can also take Metrorail to Union Station and get a MARC train (Penn or Camden Line, depending on your destination). The Metro fare varies, and the MARC fare is $8.
