Just a Countertenor
A very adequate station for a commuter rail station that only has rush hour peak direction service. It has a waiting area, restrooms, air conditioning, and a machine to purchase tickets. The only downside is that the station building is on the northbound side, meaning that the majority of commuters will need to cross the tracks before boarding a train to DC. I was very surprised to see how clean it was, especially compared to stations like Rockville that are falling apart.

It depends on the line. The MARC trains go to destinations in Maryland, DC, and West Virginia. (It may go to Virginia, too, but I'm not certain about that.) I have seen Amtrak trains pass through the station, but I've never seen one stop there.
On the low levels, most parking spaces are time-limited, or reserved. Farther up are free spaces where you can park all day.
No, the MARC train that goes through Gaithersburg is the Brunswick line, which goes from Martinsburg, WV and Frederick MD to Union Station in DC in the morning and the opposite direction in the evening. If you want to get to Baltimore, I think your best bet is to take the 201 bus (MTA) from one of the several stops in Gaithersburg to the BWI MARC station (about 1 hour ride) and pick up the MARC Penn line there to Penn Station (about 20 minute ride)
Might want to ask this at point of rocks station..
This is a self service station. You need to use the machine, or Amtrak at Union station can assist you.
