There's no reason they shouldn't especially since they'll be charging you for the night anyway. The important thing though is you don't want them to charge you for the night and give your room away because you neglected to call and tell them you're running late because of flight delays. Just a little common sense here.
You should call before and notify them just to be sure.
It shouldn't be a problem. In my experience they had a desk attendant full time.
