Yes, a beautiful walk. Takes 10 to 15 mins. Nice paved walkways under the trees and pretty landscaping. Drops you out at the side of the entrance of Universal Studios.
No shuttle from airport. To the park yes, and they water taxis. The waking distance is short to Universal Studios. They airport have shuttle company and taxis or contact us at REAL Luxury Transportation at FB.COM
I used the LYNX city bus. $2 per adult, $1 per kid under 11. Take the 111 from the airport, get off at the Florida Mall, get on the 37. That bus takes you right to the Universal Transportation Hub. From there, get on the free shuttle to your resort hotel. It took right at an hour, but we arrived in the morning and weren't in a rush. It's definitely the cheapest way to go.
Hotel guests pay $28 (plus tax) per vehicle per night for self-parking. For anyone visiting during the day, five minutes or less is complimentary, up to 30 minutes is $10, and anything over that is $45 for the day.
We booked two adjoining rooms, three in one room and two in the other not bad at all. As it turned out we spent about $5,500 for five people room board meals and express passes for 4 nights.

You can go in and out. It's a private self parking for hotel guest only. There is a daily fee not that bad for the convenience and safety of your car. You can also valet.
Yes you can get as many fast passes as guests in your room. The pass is your actual room key so you just need to get room keys for every member you want to have a fast pass.
The Express Pass allows for skipping the regular lines at the rides. You save a lot of time and get to go on many more rides because your wait times are anywhere from 50% to 90% lower than without. If you are going to multiple park the Express Pass is the only way to get the most out of your adventure.

Valet will bring you to front door as usual but self parking in the parking garage is right next to the main lobby. We parked underground next to the elevator and took us a 3 minute walk to the front door. Very convenient.
You can check in as early as 6 a.m., but your room will likely not be ready. They can hold your luggage at the bag check area and you can head over to the parks to start using the Express Pass included with a stay at Portofino Bay right away. You can use this perk on the day you check in and the day you check out.
