It's not very deep at designated swimming areas. It does drop off swiftly once out far enough. If you are boating if always recommend a life jacket while boat is in motion
You can walk in the swimming area but the depth varies depending on the amount of rain we have. Definitely bring a life jacket for any non swimmers.
