Yes Crystal City has many hotels (not cheap though). They also have free shuttles so you don't have to walk. If you need to walk though it would take at least ten minutes. Leave from south end of airport upper level toward rt. #1. Go over overpass and down ramp to Crystal Dr. which has many high end hotels. Also one road over to route #1 there is a Holiday Inn.
The Crystal City hotel strip kind of borders up to the Airport. However, depending on your point of arrival, that that requires a hike from one end of the airport to another through area not necessarily pedestrian friendly. A better alternative it you want to walk may be to take the metro one stop to the Crystal City area. Still, it is doable, and I believe Hilton Crystal City may be closest.
If you were in Ranger School I'd say yes, everything is close march away. If you are not a Ranger, then I'd tell you its about a mile or so to the closest hotel. Depending on how much luggage you have and the time of day....it might be best to just grab a free hotel shuttle or Uber.
